HOW TO USE

How to Get Started:

  • Log onto www.majorsuntangled.com.

  • Click on the “Profile” button at the top, right corner.

  • Enter the classes that you’ve taken or are currently enrolled in.

  • Be sure to click "Save" once you're done.

  • Search for a major or a certificate at the bottom of the page.

  • See the progress that you've made along this major or certificate! (Move the tree around by dragging it with your mouse, hover over the diffeent nodes, click on the nodes where appropriate, etc.)

Favorites:

  • Once you have searched for a major or certificate, it will temporarily appear on your main panel (until you close out of the website).

  • To ensure that your favorite majors/certificates are automatically loaded every time, click on the “Heart” button located at the top of the side panel for each major/certificate.

How to Understand

the Tree:

  • Tree colors:

    • Red: You have not fulfilled the requirements for this node.

    • Green: You have fulfilled the requirements for this node.

    • Yellow: You have completed this class, but it is not being counted towards this node for one of the following reasons: 1) This class has already been used to fulfill another requirement, 2) Another class is already being used to fulfill this requirement.

  • Hovering:

    • When you hover your mouse over intermediate nodes (nodes that are not the first node and also not the classes at the end), you’ll see your progress along that node. For example, if you see “3/4” when you over hover over “Prerequisites”, that means you have completed the requirements towards three out of the four categories under “Prerequisites.”

  • Notes:

    • Sometimes, when you click on a node, you’ll see the information on the side panel change. When you click on class, this is usually just a description of the course. However, when you click on certain nodes, you might get additional useful information that will help you better understand the node that you clicked on. Pay attention to these!

  • Bold Classes:

    • Classes that are in bold are currently being offered this semester (or the most semester for which registration is available).
